Comprises a high visibility plastic capsule approximately the size and shape of a beer bottle which contains either 25 or 40 metres of floating line. In use, the cap is removed to give the user one end of the line to retain and the capsule is hurled over and opast the person in the water, who can then grab the line and be hauled to safety. The lifeline can be repackaged following use. Due to its compact design this item can be easily carried in a coat pocket or mounted by the supplied clip in a vehicle or boat.
